GE Security’s new box camera, the KTC-XP3 UltraView, includes award-winning Digital Pixel System (DPS) technology from Pixim Incorporated.
The KTC-XP3 UltraView is the first in GE’s XP3 Surveillance Camera Series and is the next generation in wide dynamic range cameras.
The camera uses XPosure image capture technology to provide excellent performance in challenging lighting conditions.
Pixim’s Orca chipset provides wide dynamic range for accurate color and minimal blooming and smear in extreme lighting conditions. Wide dynamic range ensures accurate video capture in all light conditions.
The KTC-XP3 uses dual temperature sensor calibration technology to correct the thermal noise which occurs as the sensor cyclically heats and cools during the day and night throughout the year.
This gives consistent image quality, while competitive sensors can lose picture quality due to thermally generated noise.
DPS technology’s image consistency and accuracy facilitates positive subject identification which is often difficult with existing analog CCD sensors due to image blooming, smear and limited color fidelity.
The DPS image sensor converts light to a digital signal at each pixel. This means that each pixel benefits from independent, optimised exposure times, providing high-image quality and colour accuracy.
Pixim’s DPS chipsets are compact and easy to configure. The KTC-XP3 incorporates the D2500R Orca Chipset which provides settings that can be specifically tuned for each application such as digital pan-tilt-zoom and configurable image parameters.
There are also pre-made profiles suitable for the majority of environments. In addition, five multi-language menus are built into the camera.
