Controlware IP CCTV monitors Bahrain Grand Prix

Newbury-based IP CCTV specialist, Controlware Communications Systems, worked with integration partner, LSS Technologies, to supply an IP CCTV solution to the Bahrain International Circuit, home of the recent Formula 1 Gulf Air Grand Prix.

The scalable system monitored spectators, traffic and car parks at the circuit for the 4-day Grand Prix, and was designed for easy expansion in line with future security requirements.

The 20-channel IP CCTV network runs over a single mode fiber backbone. It uses Bosch VIPX-1 encoders to bring DVD quality video from the cameras to a central control room for viewing on a video wall.

A Web Client feature adds flexibility by allowing operators to remotely control cameras, and to view and record live video off network.

Video is stored on 6 Tb (Terra byte) RAID (Redundant Arrays of Inexpensive Disks) storage devices, which can be set to record when triggered by a specific event.

Management of the system is via Controlware’s Cware Prime advanced management platform which features ICN (Image Content Navigation) to simplify site navigation.
