Dedicated Micros protects school playground

Story link: Dedicated Micros protects school playground by Jan Harris

Security equipment from Dedicated Micros, a Warrington-based CCTV technology company, is helping to safeguard children at Little Aston Primary School in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham.

The equipment monitors the UK’s first ever interactive playground.

Children playing in the outdoor playground can log onto a computerised system and collect points from the equipment they play on.

The equipment records times, allowing the children to compete with others and also try to beat their own records.

In order to protect the playground and its innovative technology from vandalism, Wolverhampton-based Spectre, a Dedicated Micros Fusion programme installer, specified a Dedicated Micros NetVu Connected SD Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and a Dennard pole-mounted 2060 dome camera.

The security technology can integrate with the school’s existing network of five CCTV cameras.

The DVR and a display screen are installed in the school’s main office, allowing staff to monitor the premises.

Dedicated Micros NetVu ObserVer software transfers the images over the schools existing IP network, and images can be viewed remotely over any Internet connected computer.
