US-based Sentry Technology Corporation has secured a contract to supply 16 SmartTrack travelling CCTV systems to Hornbach-Baumarkt-AG, one of Europe's leading do-it-yourself retailers with 120 large stores in eight countries.
Sentry designs, manufactures, sells and installs a complete line of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) solutions, Electro-Magnetic (EM) and RFID based Library Management systems as well as Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro- Magnetic (EM) EAS systems.
The CCTV product line features SentryVision, and SmartTrack, a proprietary, patented travelling surveillance system. The company's products are used by libraries to secure inventory and improve operating efficiency, by retailers to deter shoplifting and internal theft, and by industrial and institutional customers to protect assets and people.
Sentry’s business in Europe is strong, with orders during 2007 up more than 70% compared to the same period in 2006. Many customers are repeat buyers through the company’s growing international dealer program. Total Sentry YTD orders of approximately $11.5m exceeds end of August 2006 orders by more than 50%.
