Axis Communications has enhanced the security of its network cameras with ‘Active Tampering Alarm’.

Active Tampering Alarm immediately notifies operators if a camera’s normal operation is interrupted, allowing any disruption to service to be quickly rectified.

Activities which trigger the alarm include the camera lens becoming obscured or adjusted out of focus, or the device being relocated.

An alarm will also be triggered if the camera is damaged or its view is blocked by an object.

Axis has also recently upgraded many of its network cameras and video encoders with video motion detection and audio detection.

The company is integrating video analytics applications within its network video products to assist security operators by solving specific video surveillance challenges.

Axis has added Active Tampering Alarm to the following network cameras: AXIS 209FD-R, AXIS 221, AXIS 223M and AXIS 225FD.
