ConnectVu offers CCTV on mobiles

Story link: ConnectVu offers CCTV on mobiles by Jan Harris

Wireless video monitoring service, ConnectVu, is offering CCTV or video feeds directly to a mobile phone over GSM/GPRS/3G and other mobile networks.

The Video is streamed at up to 10 frames per second providing a good view of a house or other location.

To use the service, software is installed on the mobile phone to connect with the ConnectVu server with no need to configure a firewall, network or router.

It allows PTZ CCTV cameras, or control connected systems, to be operated remotely from the mobile handset.

The mobile phone user can remotely position cameras, close gates or doors and operate environmental controls such as lights.

Video streams from the connected cameras can be viewed on mobile handsets, computers with an Internet connection and Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

The software is compatible with most video-equipped handsets from popular manufacturers such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, and Motorola.
