Ideal Launches SecuriTEST CCTV Installation Tester

Story link: Ideal Launches SecuriTEST CCTV Installation Tester by Jan Harris

Ideal Industries, Inc. has introduced the multifunctional SecuriTEST(TM) CCTV/Security Installation Tester designed for use with video monitors, DVRs, fixed and PTZ cameras, and twisted pair cables.

The compact, handheld device features a bright 2.5-inch color LCD screen and weighs less than one pound. It is powered by either Alkaline or rechargeable Ni-MH batteries which provide four-hours of continuous usage.

SecuriTEST is the first tester of its kind and can significantly reduce the time it takes to install a CCTV system installation by performing the duties of six separate devices. It also reduces installation costs.

SecuriTEST includes:

• a video tester/monitor which enables cameras to be aimed and focused locally, with the need for a second technician in the control room to verify functionality;
• a PTZ Controller which supports multiple protocols for local testing and programming of cameras as they are being installed;
• a digital Multimeter to test power supply problems;
• a UTP Cable Tester to locate shorts, opens and crossed pairs on installed cabling, including CAT5e cable used to carry PTZ control signals and video signals;
• a Video Test Pattern Generator to check colour bar, brightness and contrast on a monitor or DVR;
• a PTZ Protocol Analyzer to determine the protocol being used and display the command codes for transmitted data.

SecuriTEST is available immediately available with an MSRP of $659.
