Funding bid for CCTV across NE Derbyshire
Story link: Funding bid for CCTV across NE Derbyshire by Jan Harris

NE Derbyshire Community Safety Partnership is seeking funding for the development of a £160,000 wireless CCTV system, linking 24 villages to a central CCTV hub.
The new system would connect existing cameras, and planned new cameras across the district, to the central monitoring station. It would also feature a radio system for businesses and the police.
The system would be designed to help prevent crime and disorder. It is also hoped that it would help police to better target their patrols.
A website would be developed, allowing CCTV operators from any computer to remotely operate cameras, view footage and share information. Police would also have access to the website.
Each of the 24 parishes will be approached about providing funding for the scheme. Councils and other interested parties are expected to contribute £80,000, with match-funding from funding bodies.
