Story link: Bell Security secures CCTV contract for Imperial War Museum by Jan Harris

London-based Bell Security is to provide next generation security and fire systems to the Imperial War Museum, including its main site in London, Duxford Aviation Museum, Churchill Museum & Cabinet War Rooms, HMS Belfast and IWM North in Manchester.
The contract covers the provision of CCTV, access control systems, intruder and fire alarms, voice alarm and emergency lighting systems and a new fibre optic communications system.
Bell underwent a competitive tendering process which involved 11 other bidders, before being awarded the contract. Bell secured the business because it satisfied the cost criteria and had integrated systems and networking experience, together with a remote systems management facility.
Phase 1 of the project involves the Museum’s main London site in Lambeth. Work on this phase is scheduled for completion by the end of 2007.
