Wireless CCTV launches body-worn 3G surveillance kit

Story link: Wireless CCTV launches body-worn 3G surveillance kit by Jan Harris

Wireless CCTV, a UK-based specialist in mobile CCTV, has launched 3G body-worn surveillance equipment.

The equipment provides evidential quality recording of suspects. It includes a 3G camera vest and 3G belt, on which the surveillance equipment is visible, together with a WCCTV 3G backpack in which the surveillance equipment is concealed. This is designed to be suitable for security agents on the move.

The central unit of the equipment comprises a compact flash card, with which security personnel can record digital, evidential video and audio footage.

The images and sound recorded by the agent can be monitored remotely via a 3G mobile phone. A supervisor can then pass suggestions or information back to the security personnel.

The equipment includes an optional GPS receiver which tracks and maps the exact location of security personnel while they are on the field. There is also a panic button which allows personnel to immediately alert a supervisor that they require assistance.

The data can be backed up after an operation has taken place, reducing the need for paperwork.
