Datastrip provides surveillance camera connectivity
Story link: Datastrip provides surveillance camera connectivity by Jan Harris

Datastrip, a provider of biometric verification devices, has enhanced its DSVII-SC handheld biometric/ID card reader with wireless visual intelligence technology from AirVisual.
The DSVII-SC card reader, a handheld device which combines a reader for reading ID cards, a fingerprint sensor for instant matching to a biometric template, and a large color touch screen display, can now display surveillance camera video, maps and other remote data needed for security and emergency response.
The enhancement means that the DSVII-SC card reader can be used for both mobile identity verification and for connectivity to key video and map data in the field. It also provides a FIPS 201-compliant hardware option for AirVisual’s platform.
AirVisual’s IntelliViewer technology is available as an embedded add-on for the DSVII-SC, providing remote access to real-time and archived video playback from surveillance cameras, GPS and GIS maps, building floor plans, sensor alarms, and other data that is usually only available in a command center.
The DSVII-SC is available directly from Datastrip or through the company’s network of resellers and system integrators.
