Telent Completes CCTV Installation At Corby Station

Story link: Telent Completes CCTV Installation At Corby Station by Jan Harris

Telent, a network and communications specialist, has successfully completed the installation of a Customer Information and Security System at the new Corby railway station in Northamptonshire.

Services to London started from the town’s new, £17m station in February 2009, representing the first direct train service between Corby and London for 40 years.

Telent has installed a public address system, 6 customer information screens, 2 customer help points and 15 security cameras at the station.

The CCTV cameras are connected by a wide area network (WAN) and transmit images to a remote security control centre in Derby, although they can also be operated locally.

Telent also installed the GPS Master Clock at the station, which provides the stamp mark for the CCTV footage.

The contract is one of a number of successes in the transport sector for Telent.

It was recently selected by Network Rail to help upgrade Driver Only Operator systems at stations across South East England
