IndigoVision wins major CCTV contract

IndigoVision, which manufactures IP video and alarm management security solutions for CCTV surveillance applications, has secured the exclusive right to have its equipment recommended for use at 2,600 schools in London.
IndigoVision solutions will be available through the London Grid for Learning’s (LGfL) existing IT network.
The network provides broadband internet services to all 33 local education authorities in London, connecting around 2,600 schools.
IndigoVision undertook successful pilot projects at a small number of the schools involved. CCTV footage from the trials was monitored through a central control room in the London borough of Bromley.
The cost of installing IndigoVision’s systems is expected to be offset by the reduced costs of repairs to school buildings as the systems help to reduce theft and vandalism.
The footage will be of a superior quality to that provided by existing CCTV systems in the schools and surveillance will be available around the clock.
Most vandalism in schools occurs in the evening, at a time when schools have unused bandwidth from the LGfL network.
A recommended solution from IndigoVision will be installed into the network, freeing schools from having to assess it against alternative solutions, a process which can be time-consuming.
