Scyron, a Birmingham-based security and surveillance services company, has appointed Peter Cain as Chief Technology Officer.
Cain was previously head of electronics at Dyson Technology.
He will help Scyron strengthen its research and development activities, with a particular focus on the intelligent networked CCTV market, which is estimated to be worth $1.7 billion worldwide by 2012.
Following the success of its DARC intelligent video surveillance and DEMON digital evidence management solutions, Scyron plans to increase its engineering team from 5 to around 30 over the next three years.
The expansion will help to ensure that Scyron remains at the cutting edge of innovations in intelligent video surveillance systems.
Scyron’s intelligent, incident-based security and surveillance solutions are based on a global patent for an incident-analysis algorithm.
customers include the West Midlands Police force; London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham; US FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.
