Visimetrics (UK) Ltd, the CCTV specialist and leading EPoS provider NISYST have teamed up to produce a combined Electronic Point of Sale and Digital Video Recording system, named PoSDVR.
This system enables users to combine the capture, storage and access of digitally recorded CCTV images with EPoS data in the same physical unit.
PoSDVR integrates NISYST’s NPoS software with Visimetrics OCTAR application, providing instant access to recorded CCTV images driven by the search of specific EPoS transactions.
Transaction searches can provide vital visual verification following an incident, significantly assisting loss prevention.
Recording profiles are configurable throughout each 24 hour time period regardless of whether the EPoS is in use. An individual digital recording system is capable of recording up to 8 standard CCTV cameras, all producing images which can be searched by PoS transaction.
PoSDVR eliminates the need for complex CCTV wiring back to a traditional stand alone CCTV system. Integrating the EPoS and CCTV Recording applications simplifies the installation, operation and future maintenance of the system.
PoSDVR provides simultaneous access to live or recorded images locally, over the local network to standard PC’s in store, or across wider networks such as VPN to central locations.
It can export images to CD or DVD when they are required by the police for evidential purposes. An inbuilt audit system ensures any exported footage complies fully with the HOSDB “Digital Images as Evidence” guidelines.
