Video Domain Technologies, a developer of CCTV security solutions, has launched the D-V58-Cell, a covert GPRS-based event-driven digital video recorder.
The cost-effective D-V58 uses standard SD memory cards to record up to 384 hours of high quality video. It can be used in remote locations covered by cellular networks.
The recorder connects to any standard analogue CCTV camera and takes a programmable series of digitised still photographs when its built-in motion detection system is triggered by an event.
Using existing cellular wireless infrastructures, it then sends an SMS notification of an alarm event/video loss to any GPRS enabled mobile phone.
Time and date-stamped Jpeg images can be emailed as attachments and accessed via the Internet with a computer or PDA.
The D-V58 weighs 690g and measures only 153 x 140 x 43mm. It is battery-operated and suitable for use in locations where no power is available.
