Story link: SANYO releases IP/analogue hybrid DVR by Jan Harris

SANYO has announced a new hybrid DVR – the DSR-HB8000 – which can record images from a combination of both IP and analogue cameras in real time.
The DVR records at 400 frames per second and can capture images from up to sixteen cameras. Four of the cameras can be IP cameras.
Sixteen channel audio recording is also possible. The DVR has storage capacity for up to 3.75 TB of video.
The DSR-HB8000 uses a unique compression technology called MPEG-4+. This allows data to be quickly transmitted over a network, without compromising quality. It also gives especially fast-forward and reverse playback.
The DSR-HB8000 comes with telemetry coaxial control which provides control over PTZ cameras.
A Monitor Plus feature allows other networked DVRs to be accessed. This means that up to 80 cameras can be monitored and controlled from a single DVR.
The device is able to interact with EPOS systems. Video can be searched by looking for specific data or text, allowing suspicious activity to be quickly and easily analysed.
