Manchester selects Omnicast CCTV system
Story link: Manchester selects Omnicast CCTV system by Jan Harris

The City of Manchester has chosen equipment from Genetec to upgrade its CCTV network from analogue to IP based surveillance.
All of the city’s 700 analogue cameras will eventually be managed by a federated Omnicast 4.1 IP CCTV system, which will be integrated into the IT network by C-Ways.
The new system will allow unicast and multicast functions to be used simultaneously, helping the manage bandwidth.
It will also route all video to one central monitoring station, rather than the five locations previously used, with a significant saving in costs.
