RemGuard system effective in combating metal theft

Story link: RemGuard system effective in combating metal theft by Jan Harris

RemGuard Visual Management, part of AD Group, has deployed a CCTV system at Oldbury Aluminium Alloys’ premises in Halesowen, where there is a high theft rate for scrap metal.

The solution comprises detector-activated cameras at strategic points around the site, linked by specialised transmission equipment to a BS8418 compliant RVRC (Remote Video Response Centre) operated by RemGuard Visual Management.

The RVRC is manned by specially trained operators, and provides event-driven monitoring of the area.

The system has already been effective in combating theft at the company’s premises. In one incident, the site was broken into by several men, at night. Operators at the RVRC immediately alerted the police who were able to detain one of the intruders at the scene of crime.
