QED’s Genesis PIR deployed for Rotherham Council

Story link: QED’s Genesis PIR deployed for Rotherham Council by Jan Harris

Yorkshire-based WRS Electronic Security Solutions Ltd recently installed a Genesis passive infra red detector (PIR) system from QED to monitor a 3 building site for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.

The Council wanted a cost-effective system which would keep the site secure around the clock.

QED’s Genesis fulfilled this requirement as the wireless system requires no expensive civil work to be carried out.

A total of 10 Genesis Wireless heads were used on the buildings, and this can be extended to 64 if necessary.

The heads are designed to be vandal resistant, and include an integrated shock sensor and light sensor.

The signals from the heads are collected in one central point and all alarms are then transmitted over half a mile to the police station where they are monitored.
