Taiwan-based Commel has announced the launch of H.264 dual stream HD network cameras.
The cameras are based on the HDTV standard and are ideal for the surveillance of large areas where the detailed identification of either people or objects is required.
The CMI-713 model is suitable for outdoor use or low-light areas, such as highways, airports or banks, while the CMI-720 is recommended for use in stores, and public areas such as hospitals.
The CMI-713 is a 1.3 mega pixels camera with 1280×960 maximum video resolution, while the CMI-720 offers 2.0 mega pixels and 1600×1200 video resolution.
Power over Ethernet support allows for cost-effective installation of the cameras.
Earlier in the month UK-based Y-Cam launched a new range of IP cameras which connects directly to the internet via a wired or wireless computer network.
The affordable cameras are ideal for consumers who wish to monitor property, or vulnerable members of the family, from any standard web browser.
The cameras have a built-in microphone for audio monitoring.
A motion-detection feature can trigger an email alert, notifying the owner that motion has been detected.
The new Y-cam SD range features a microSD slot so that video can be recorded to a microSD card.
