Axis Communications Wins Award for Best CCTV Product

Story link: Axis Communications Wins Award for Best CCTV Product by Brian Turner

Network video company, Axis Communications, won the award for the year’s best CCTV product at the 7th Detektor International Award ceremony in Copenhagen, with the Axis 212 PTZ Network Camera.

The Detektor International Award is considered to be very prestigious as companies are not allowed to nominate themselves for consideration. A panel of eight adjudicators from the editorial board of Detektor International from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, the UK and the USA make their selections from product launches during the preceding year.

The 212 PTZ Network Camera for indoor security surveillance features instant one-click pan/tilt/zoom functionality and automatic patrolling with no moving parts. A 3 Megapixel camera and wide angle lens provides coverage of areas up to 150m2 with instant pan/tilt/zoom to zero in on areas of interest and automatic patrolling.

Picture quality and bandwidth usage can be optimised through support for both MPEG-4 and JPEG compression. The camera has two-way sound, a built in microphone and I/O ports for external sensors and relays and can be powered via the network cable for reduced installation costs.

Other features include pre- and post-alarm image buffering, video motion detection, and scheduled and triggered event functionality with alarm notification. Security features include multi-level password protection, IP address filtering and HTTPS encryption.
