IndigoVision CCTV deployed by FCC

Story link: IndigoVision CCTV deployed by FCC by Jan Harris

Train operator, First Capital Connect (FCC), has deployed integrated IP Video technology from IndigoVision. as part of the upgrade of its stations.

As part of FCC’s £8 million Station Improvements Programme, IndigoVision and its partner, ATEC Security, upgraded 1,194 existing analogue CCTV cameras across 63 train stations.

The new IP system is monitored at a new central control room at Enfield, using FCC’s existing network infrastructure and ‘Control Centre’ IP Video and alarm management software.

The new system allows multiple video streams from each camera to be configured for different applications.

This means that high-framerate/high-bandwidth can be used for recording and local viewing and low bandwidth for remote monitoring over the WAN.

A specially designed server platform has been installed to support over 100 IndigoVision Windows-based Network Video Recorders (NVRs).

These provide 31 days of recording using a total of 473 terabytes of RAID 5 storage.

947 fixed and 95 PTZ cameras are connected to an IndigoVision 8000 IP Video transmitter/receiver module which converts the analogue camera feed to DVD quality MPEG-4 digital video for transmission over the network.

IndigoVision has substantial experience in the transport sector, having carried out infrastructure projects for Berlin S-Bahn, the Dutch National Rail network and the 900+ camera system for SkyTrain, the automated light rapid transit system in Vancouver, Canada.

IndigoVision is based in Edinburgh and has sales and support offices across the world.
