New Dome Surveillance Cameras From Cohu

Cohu Electronics has incorporated Pixim Inc’s Orca Chipset in its new family of box and dome day/night wide dynamic range (WDR) surveillance cameras.
Pixim’s patented Digital Pixel System® (DPS) technology has been integrated into Cohu’s 1000 Series High Resolution WDR surveillance cameras. The range includes six configurations of colour box and dome cameras, with day/night and 12VDC/24VAC options in both indoor and outdoor housings.
The cameras are intended for general security and surveillance, and are suitable for use in high vandalism areas and high contrast light environments.
Pixim’s DPS technology helps to deliver smear-less pictures, excellent image quality and colour accuracy. DPS technology converts light to a digital signal directly at the point of capture in the image sensor.
This enables each pixel to have independent, optimized exposure times, providing the highest image quality. The technology enables positive subject identification in challenging lighting conditions, day or night.
Pixim chipsets feature excellent low light performance (0.5 lux in color, 0.1 lux in black and white), wide dynamic range (120dB max), a progressive scan imager with global shutter that minimizes motion artifacts, and high Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) even at high temperature.
