Connectivity services provider, Vianet, has launched Connect, the world’s first mobile CCTV service, which monitors live images over a secure 3G network.
The wireless Connect system allows cameras to be swiftly deployed, making CCTV available to remote, outdoor locations where wired CCTV is not easily available.
The Connect 3G system gives increased control for accurate positioning of cameras, while the mobile cameras can be installed faster and more easily than traditional wired systems.
Connect’s CCTV images are transmitted over the secure network to a control room. Each camera is given a unique address, allowing operators to remotely manage, control and redirect it.
Vianet’s 3G network provides the necessary speed and quality of data transmission to ensure that the cameras provide effective imaging.
Ian Orrock, Vianet’s CEO says: “3G network technology has advanced, enabling Vianet to provide secure transmissions at the quality and price to make surveillance widely available”.
The Connect system is ideal for locations where cameras need to be moved on a regular basis, such as building sites and public spaces.
