WCCTV launches remote surveillance service

Story link: WCCTV launches remote surveillance service by Jan Harris

WCCTV, the Wireless CCTV specialist, has launched a 3G-enabled remote live monitoring service using T-Mobile’s 3G network.

The service provides high quality CCTV images, with live feeds available at speeds of 14-15 frames a second - substantially faster than feeds provided by a HSCSD (High Speed Circuit Switched Data) network.

This allows users to monitor surveillance operations in real time from any location rather than having to be based in control centres and therefore facilitates quicker response times to incidents.

The new service works by equipping Wireless CCTV cameras with T-Mobile 3G SIM cards.

The CCTV cameras are connected via the sim card to T-Mobile’s 3G network, allowing live feeds to be downloaded from remote locations.

The Wireless CCTV system has a significant advantage over a wired system as it can quickly and easily be moved from place to place.
