IP security specialist, Genetec, has released a new version of Omnicast, its networked video surveillance security solution

Omnicast 4.3 has been updated with new hardware integrations as well as enhancements to existing integrations.

The solution now supports Axis H.264 IP cameras and encoders and several Pelco IP products, providing additional system design flexibility, and making it easier for customers to migrate systems from analog to IP.

Omnicast 4.3 also supports Axis guard tour feature enabling PTZ camera patterns in Omnicast, and software motion detection for MPEG-4 streams from some Panasonic cameras.

The Barco Hydra plugin has been enhanced, allowing displayed video on the Barco wall to be managed via a CCTV keyboard.

Francis Lachance, Product Manager at Genetec for Omnicast said: “Customers can build their systems with Omnicast knowing not only that there are many hardware options available to them today, but also feeling confident that most pioneering hardware technology released in the future will be supported by Omnicast. This truly gives them a sense of unlimited possibilities.”
