Immersive video includes 360 degree camera

Story link: Immersive video includes 360 degree camera by Jan Harris

Shepperton-based company TX Immersive recently launched the world’s most advanced immersive video system in Europe.

While conventional CCTV systems rely on the camera lens pointing in the right direction to keep people in frame, TX Immersive’s portable telemmersion system monitors all areas at the same time and also provides sound and GPS positional information.

The Dodeca’s multi camera head has eleven lenses housed in a compact assembly and is light enough to be placed on a pole mount, backpack or vehicle. The camera gives the user a 360 degree view in real time.

Pre-recorded material can then be played back on a PC or Network allowing multiple users to view the recording, making the system ideal for use in a training situation.
