802 Global’s wireless Samix Camera is designed to be worn on the body to deliver real-time video to remote units.
The system, which is ideal for use by emergency personnel such as fire and rescue, comprises a COFDM Video Transmitter (CVT) and COFDM Video Receiver (CVR) unit.
Images are relayed directly from the CVT directly to the CVR unit where they can be viewed by colleagues.
Images can also be sent via radio mesh to the incident command unit, and even distributed further by satellite technology.
Mark Calkin, head of 802 Global’s Special Projects Group said: “Using 802 Global’s Samix Camera System and radio mesh technology gives commanders the ability to see precisely what is happening on the ground as the incident develops, enabling them to make better informed decisions”.
Earlier this year 802 Global supplied digital broadband solutions to expand Metronet UK’s high-speed wireless networks across the UK and Ireland.
