Radiation-resistant lenses from Resolve Optics
Story link: Radiation-resistant lenses from Resolve Optics by Jan Harris

Resolve Optics Ltd, which is based in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, has developed a range of radiation-resistant lenses for use in radioactive environments.
The non-browning lenses are designed to withstand a total radiation dose of 100,000,000rads and temperatures up to 55 degrees centigrade without discoloration.
The range includes fixed focus and motorised zoom lenses and the company can provide lenses to meet exact customer specifications.
The lenses range from 6 mm to 25mm focal length with fields of view up to 108 degrees and provide high image resolution and minimum geometric distortion from 400 - 750 nm.
They are designed for use with 1″ and 2/3″ CCTV cameras as well as Newvicon and Chalnicon tubes in a variety of nuclear monitoring applications.
For applications where space is restricted, Resolve Optics offers the type 207 range which are probably the smallest stand-alone high performance zoom lens currently commercially available.
