CCTV vehicle equipped with IndigoVision IP video solution

Story link: CCTV vehicle equipped with IndigoVision IP video solution by Jan Harris

A Community Safety Vehicle operated by the London Borough of Waltham Forest has been equipped with an integrated IP video solution from IndigoVision.

The vehicle, which is a joint initiative between the Borough, the Metropolitan Police and parking enforcement contractor, NCP, is fitted with five fixed cameras and two fully functional Forward Vision MIC cameras mounted on a six-metre hydraulic mast.

It will cover areas where there are no fixed CCTV installations and includes an Automatic Number Plate Recognition system which is connected to the Police National Computer for live verification.

The van will carry two operators, who will control the system via ‘Control Center’, IndigoVision’s IP Video and Alarm Management software. This will run on a dual monitor workstation for viewing live and recorded camera footage.

The vehicle is also equipped with an IndigoVision Network Video Recorder (NVR) with hot-swappable hard drives.

Video can also be saved and analysed at a ‘Control Center’ workstation in the Borough’s Editing Suite at the local Council offices.

The ‘Control Center’ software provides encryption and watermarking techniques to ensure material is tamper-proof and can be used for evidential purposes.
