IPEye and Axis in IP surveillance deal

Story link: IPEye and Axis in IP surveillance deal by Jan Harris

IPEye Ltd has worked with video surveillance specialist Axis Communications to create a low-cost hosted IP surveillance system.

With Axis Communications’ Video Hosting System, IPEye is offering the system for less than £7 a month, allowing customers to view recorded or real-time footage of their home or business at any time.

Customers log on to the internet with a secure password to view the images, or can receive notifications by email or by text to their mobile phone.

The hosted video capability of Axis IP cameras stream images to a remote server owned by IPEye where they are stored securely.

A burglary or other incident will activate a pre-set trigger, ensuring that the images cannot be destroyed, even if the surveillance equipment is stolen.

Scott Earing, IPEye’s managing director said:

“This network video solution is designed so that set up is very simple. Once the cameras are installed where the surveillance is required, they simply need to be connected to the Internet or LAN and the unique user identity means that footage can be viewed only by the customer – even we can’t access their account or images!”
