Sony Europe’s Image Sensing Solutions Division has launched a new FCB-H10 colour camera module which addresses demanding picture quality requirements in high definition security applications by combining 10x optical zoom with true high definition at 1080i or 720p.
This first HD camera in the Sony FCB Series is a compact unit measuring 47.2 x 43.1 x 72.2mm, and is expected to open up new areas for HD integration, including those with limited space. It is anticipated that the camera will be used by both commercial product manufacturers and VARs looking to implement and retrofit high definition video systems.
The device makes use of Sony’s auto-focus, auto-exposure and auto-white balance technologies to produce superior images with less external intervention.
Based on a 2Mpixel 1/3 type CMOS image sensor, the FCB-H10 is designed for applications in intelligent CCTV/security, and environments that require high-quality remote shooting.
The camera weighs 120g and is available now.
