Axis launches 1.3 megapixel network camera

Story link: Axis launches 1.3 megapixel network camera by Jan Harris

Axis Communications has launched high resolution MPEG-4 and motion JPEG cameras which are ideal for video surveillance and provide exceptional image detail

The company’s 1.3 megapixel network camera for professional surveillance applications provides three times higher resolution than a professional analogue camera.

The Axis 211M Network Camera uses megapixel resolution in MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG streams for providing video surveillance with exceptional image detail.

The camera enables the identification of people and objects, and is ideal for use in banks and retail outlets, on public transport and in public sector organisations.

It features a high-quality lens with DC-iris for improving the depth of field and protecting the sensor at intensely illuminated scenes.

The camera also features Power over Ethernet which allows it to be powered through the Ethernet cable, and two-way audio functionality that allows users to listen to and speak with intruders.

The Axis 211M retails for around £473.26 (excluding VAT).
