IndigoVision IP-CCTV deployed at petrochemical terminal

Royal Vopak has deployed a complete IP Video system from IndigoVision at its petrochemical storage terminal in West Thurrock.
The terminal stores liquid and gaseous chemical and oil products in 125 tanks - an environment presenting significant health, safety and security challenges.
Vopak’s existing analogue CCTV system was upgraded with a complete end-to-end networked IP Video solution from IndigoVision, including 40 cameras.
The system features IndigoVision’s ‘Control Center’ IP Video and Alarm management software. This allows CCTV operators to view live and recorded footage, from any of the cameras on the network, via workstations both in a central control room, and at several other locations on the site.
The new system provides faster image retrieval than the previous system, and live and recorded video of a high enough quality to be used as evidence in court. The footage can also be used for training purposes.
IndigoVision’s Network Video Recorder (NVR) software, can store up to 3 months of continuous video footage from all the cameras.
Each of the 40 CCTV cameras is connected to an IndigoVision 8000 transmitter/receiver module. This converts the analogue camera feed into DVD-quality MPEG-4 digital video for transmission over the network.
Vopak can add cameras to the network when necessary without the need to install additional cabling.
M J Partnership acted as consultant on the project and the system was installed by ADT Fire & Security Ltd in partnership with Waterstons, Vopak’s IT consultants.
