Default USB DVR Rapid os box

Is a USB DVR Rapid OS Box good enough for using to watch and record 3 wireless Swann Cameras around the outside of the house? Is their alot interference? thanks please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You would be better of with the camera's wired my friend, there are many post on the forum that you can read about installing wireless systems.

Yer I know but the problem is i have already bought them and drilled in the wall the wireless ones. Would Recommend the box USB?

Its not just the USB devise this will just convert so your PC will do most of the work, what Pc are you planning on running them and the software on?

What spec is the laptop? eg: Ram, Processor, Hard Drive?

Yeah should be fine my friend, only thing to consider is the hard drive space, considering your going to have software etc on there, maybe worth getting an external hard drive to dump your video to! Cheers

Iain is spot on with the hard drive. Get an external USB drive maybe 120 or 160GB and store all the video detection on it. And if you encrypt the drive with something like Truecrypt (free program by the way) then all recordings would also be secure for legal purposes. Plus any sensitive data on the drive would likewise be secured.

I've about given up on the wireless route. Too fraught with problems. Will your cameras also take wired connections? My wireless ones work either way and I have them hard wired in at the moment.
