Hi, not sure if this is the correct place to post but hope you can help.
I purchased a AVerDiGi EB1704 Hybrid, from RFconcepts. The problem I have is with the software. I had to convert about an hours worth of video and used the avermedia software on my PC. The software that avermedia supply is rubbish and is very slow. It takes about five hours just to convert a file to AVI. I have spoken with the company who I purchased it from and they have contacted them about it but they are just making up excuses. The say that my PC is to high spec, which is absolutely stupid, when it's really there rubbish software that is the problem. Anyway I am not happy with the poor service and software from avermedia and wondered if anyone knows some other software I could use to convert the files quicker. I have looked all over the web but nothing yet. Any help would be great. |

Hi, thanks for the reply but that software does not work with the files. It's like most I have tried but dr divx came close.
As for RAM it's 2 GB of DDR2 and I have a quad core, so that should work fine. Last edited by Joe; 02-13-2009 at 04:50 PM. |

Joe,
Here's how to get your AVF files working in Dr. DivX in 30 seconds. No joke. Even VLC can now open the tinkered files. 1. Download a hex editor. 2. Replace the first 4 bytes "AVF0" with "RIFF". 3. Save. Example: AVF0F6BAVI LIST....hdrlavih8 becomes RIFFF6BAVI LIST....hdrlavih8 Dr. DivX may still report an incorrect resolution. After the change above, check the resolution with MediaInfo and use the reported resolution. It's insane that it works. Must be a closely guarded Avermedia secret.. Good luck |
