Are live stream web cams covered by the same legislation as CCTV cameras?

Hello, first off sorry if this is the wrong forum section

I work in a school. Next door is a construction site, building the new school to replace the one we're in now.

The school wants to setup a live feed web cam to stream 24/7 the building site direct to the schools website.

I'm wondering if theres anything legislation wise that can stop this or if we have to do anything offical, such as signs and writen permison from the building contractors.
