Default 8 CHANNEL DVR - how does it work ? ? ?

I just wonder how does the 8 channel dvr/ splitter work, does it split a screen to 8 viewing areas (like 9ch and 16ch do) or split it to 4 and then another 4 comes sequently after preser time? please help as i'm considering buying one for my 7 cameras cctv system.
thanks

Yes, you can have an 8 way view, or 4 then 4 or 1 cam at a time, let me know where you find a decently priced 8 channel from....... Personaly i'd just go for a 9!!

As istorm shows, it uses nine but the eight is blank. Or, i suppose, it has one large picture with 7 smaller ones around two sides.

what happens is

You can have 1 Large centre picture with 7 around it or have 4 and 4 or all 8 in small views or have 1 large view and it rotates it around the 8 also depend on the model will depend if you record all Channels

The software for an 8 channel is the same as a 9 channel but the physical machine only has 8 inputs, therefore the screen maxed out shows 9 squares with 8 images and one blank. Or in your case 7 with 2 blank. go for a 9 their more common and sometimes cheaper.
