Hi... I stumbled upon this forum and hope someone can help. I am looking for a way to send video and audio from a single source in a church sanctuary to a monitor located a hundred feet away in another room. I would like to avoid the hassle of running trough a PC (and hopefully have better resolution in the image than a Webcam). I simply need to send the worship service to a cry room for the benefit of the moms and dads whose children are a bit too rambunctious for church!
I would like it to be a simple system that would be turned on simply by turning on the monitor in the cry room (no hassling with web interfaces, etc.) I can run cables if I must, but a wireless solution would be great. And I'd like to do it for under $2500 US, including the cost of a 32" LED monitor. Am I dreaming or is there a solution? Many thanks. Rev. Peter K Perry Seward, Alaska, USA |

Hello Peter
If you use wireless 2.4GHz technology then the thick walls that your church is likely to have may well prevent the signal from making it the reciever point. However, higher gain antennas may aid this, as would keeping the receiver and camera in clear line of sight but this would mean running extra cables anyway.... If you don't mind running cables then I would certainly take the route of a hard wired camera and microphone with monitor system. One good quality camera, good quality mic, 30m cable (3 core for video, audio & power) and a 32" monitor should come in well under £2000. Would love to help you with the actual kit but we're based in the UK and use PAL system kit (in the US you guys use NTSC). Best of luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
