Default Pet Friendly

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on security systems best suited to households with animals either through zones or partial infared.

Is a managed security system still considered a better option?

Being 'out' of the security market for a few years I thought I'd pick your brains on this one.

Thanks all,

Corty

I know my grandparents had an infra-red burglar alarm set up in the house, even though they had a dog. You could see a red light go up when the dog moved, but even though this was years ago, the system seemed set up intelligently enough to not go off simply because there was a pet around.

2c.

That's interesting to know. While this house already has a system in place, if I were putting in a new one, I would need something to accommodate my dogs!

Many sensors react to body heat. So I'm sure they're either making or have already made a sensor that can tell the difference between animals and humans. Just a guess.

This sytem here is based on movement, but fortunately there are 'zones' so I can turn on the downstairs when the dogs and I go upstairs at night.
