I'm ot particularly big on horses myself, but I think this is definitely sad.

When you think about it this is a microcosm of human society. When money is involved, it's a whole different story. If this were any other horse, they would have put him out of his misery at the track.

If Barbaro didn't have a multi-million dollar insurance policy and wasn't worth so much putting him out to stud, then this horse would have definitely been put down....And with human's , those with the most money get the best care.
