If you think about it, The World Cup with thousands of people packed into stadiums from all over the world would be prime for a terrorist attack. Does anyone know what the security is like?

During the first English game, when it was very hot, the officials did limit how much the players could drink. There was a huge outcry afterwards and it was changed. Kind of a stupid thing for an official to do, and the decision made no sense to anyone!

There was a report on the BBC about the security precautions being taken at the world cup - apparently they have a full NATO operation in place, with an AWAX jet constantly in the skies over Germany to co-ordinate security operations better. Seems they really are very acutely aware of security issues, and are taking more than enough precautions.
Will be interesting to see what happens next time, though - isn't the 2010 World Cup in Africa? |

It's almost exactly a year since we had a terriorist attack in England and there was one in Spain earlier so it would be foolish not to have proper security in place.
How not allowing players to drink water links into that - I do not know ![]() |
