This is great news!!
For those who dont know, the Japanese have been hunting and killing beautiful sperm and other whales in the Antarctic Australian waters. Australia had not taken military action on this for some reason, but now the world has voted against Japan hunting the whales for "scientific purposes" (really it was for food though) Great news! |

Unfortunately, I read in the paper yesterday that Japan intends to increase its "scientific" research on whales ...which translates to them not stopping whaling at all ...just calling it something different.

Yes, they eat whale meat ...in fact, it's served in restaurants. Supplying restaurants is one of the reasons there's such a debate about the Japanese saying 'it's for scientific research'.
I've seen whale served like a burger, but I didn't try it! |

Whale meat isn't so bad. I mean when in Rome might as well behave like Romans right? I have to admit I wasn't really into trying different foods before I went to Japan but it tastes great. Now killing these animals in mass numbers if they're endangered is another story but I guess this is whats going on here.
