Default Capsicum Spray

Is it legal to carry capsicum spray?
I was thinking of giving this to my daughter for self protection.
What do you think?

It's a new one on me. Is it like mace? How is it dispensed?

Capsicum Spray is another term for Pepper Spray. Here's some more info for anybody who's interested:

I'm curious as to whether it's legal in the UK - could definitely be worth looking into for the future.

There are loads of U.K. websites for pepper spray or similar. I particularly like the ones with a goo like substance which turns bright red when you shoot it. Instantly marks the person!

I can't talk conclusively, but I suspect that it would be illegal to carry capscium in Enlgand

I went in search of answers on the web and really couldn't get one. It appears there are a lot of products which are similar to mace and capscium which you can buy but no where could I found out how legal they are.

The problem is you can often readily buy things that are not legal.

I know, but this is something I am finding so common as a U.K. transplant. There are so many rules which, if you go in search of an answer or guidance, you can't find! It would be nicer if you didn't have to go through trial and error!
