Packing lighter?

With all the new, and probably semi-permanent, restrictions on carry on luggage, and now all the reports of theft from luggage that has been checked, what will you stop carrying? If I have to put my digital camera, and electronics in my luggage, I'll probably leave them at home!

I've only flown a couple of times, but it's nice to be able to take a plastic bottle of coke on board, bought from a shop around the corner, instead of paying inflated prices on the plane.

I figure the caterers are the real winners here...

Isn't there insurance for this kind of stuff? Well then if luggage gets lost i'm getting rich. I would argue my way to a nice lump sum.
