I used both Firefox and Internet Explorer...

Firefox I used for untrusted sites (ie, not my own) because it's more secure against scripting vulnerabilities than IE.

However, I have the Google toolbar and Alexa bar installed on IE - so by visiting my sites I can help "vote" for them in terms of stats.

I personally use FireFox, though I also have IE and Opera installed. FireFox and Opera are better for several reasons, really.

Internet Explorer, simply put, is the most vunerable of the browsers. There are certain vunerabilities that can be comprimied and exploited by programmers who want to cause harm. It is for this reason that most security-aware computer users use either Opera or FireFox.

When it comes down to choosign between the two, it's really personal preference - they're both very good browsers. technically, Opera is better. It is considered slightly more secure than FireFox, but mainly it renders better. This means that, of the three browsers, it interpreats XHTML and CSS as they are meant to be interpreted - whereas the others just get close.

IE is getting better, however, so if you still run that it isn't a very bad thing.

I have just actually learned about Firefox and how and why it is better than Internet Explorer. But now you guys bring up another one. I have never heard of Opera before. I will have to check this one out. I am learning so much all the time when it comes to computers.

I've not tried Firefox in years, didn't really like it way back when. What is it like these days?

Opera is probably the best in terms of security.

I'm not sure which is the most secure but I prefer Firefox...Opera has good security as well...and IE is targeted the most...as it is the most popular...

What I don't get is why IE doesn't come up with security like some of the ones you all are describing? You just think that they would if people are turning to other things.
