Default Sex, sex, sex

So on top of the Foley scandal with House pages, we have the Colorado minister getting himself fired because of a homosexual relationship. I'm not sure I even know what to think about these people any more. I don't think I'd even care if they didn't purport to be something completely different to the public.

Heh, and I was reading the topic, ready to look at some sort of annoying spam

On topic, I really wonder what will happen of this Foley situation.

Yes, the header on this one certanly got my attention

I really get tired of scandals. It seems there has to be at least one a week pop up somewhere. Could we have a little peace and quiet for a change?

You know what I don't get? And before I say it this doesn't mean I was a big fan of Clinton. But it just seems like everyone was more in an uproar about him having an affair and these ones that go out sleep with underage children are not getting half the uproar that Clinton did for cheating. Now if you ask me I think it is all disgusting but that minister and people like him are by far the worst.

For my part, I don't give two hoots what two people do in bed together, provided (a) both of them are adults; (b) neither of them have legal or emotional commitments to a third party, and (c) whatever takes place is consensual.

I have no patience whatsoever for someone who is married or in a committed relationship fooling around on his or her partner. And when it comes to messing around with someone who is under at least the age of 18, my blood absolutely boils.

When Sonny Bono ran for office, why do you suppose he didn't face a lot of critisism for his relationship with Cher when he was 28 and she was 16?

Probably because she was living on her own at the time, and I have heard that she was telling everyone she was 18 in order to get full time work.

It most likely didn't come up when he was running for mayor and then later for state rep because by then the issue was long over and done with. If memory serves me right, they concentrated more on his old Prince Valient haircut and his fur vest than they did anything to do with Cher.

I wonder if people were "nicer" and less brutal in their negative campaigns back then or did it just happen that way...

If I recall, from the time Bono first ran for mayor all the way through his running for state office, they made him a butt of many jokes, a lot of them playing off his image as the buffoon on the old "Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour" - of course, there was a lot more to him than that, and he slowly won people over.

Sadly, quite the normal technique; instead of showing how great you are, you show how pitiful the other person is, not really the clean way to go.
