While exercising parental control we have to also take care that our kids should understand our point of view and act likewise. The problem part is there is a chance of them not liking our views. I feel we need to be extra careful in this area.

That's a good point. They may do it because we tell them not to and they want to see if they can get away with it. It's a good idea to explain why we feel that way and the things that can happen.

Yes, even if it may sound harsh, you do have to tell them the truth of what could happen, probably without some detail, but as long as they understand the gravity of the situation.

Definitely. Always tell them with authority that they should never talk to strangers, this will show them that you are not just saying that just nag. Try to let them understand the best way you can without corrupting their minds as well.

Talking to strangers should never be allowed..instill it from a very young age...like 2 or 3...there are some very sick perverts out there...
