It is very important to have a viable alternative to Oil and that should be used all across. Only then we can expect a better environment.

Oil is the only reason we have environmental problems? I'm not certain I can agree with that because there are other pollutants that factor into the current situation.

The thing I don't get is this is a global problem. What do you do if we make all these changes and other countries don't? Not to say that we shouldn't because they don't but it does have to be something where the majority want to become involved. And I don't see that yet.

No, and I doubt we will in the foreseeable future. How can people agree on a solution to pollution when they can't even sort out not having wars?

I agree that Oil is not the only reason of environmental pollution but it has a major share in it. Regarding other countries, I feel they will also follow the leaders. The problem part is getting agree on the steps required.
